The Gallery will be holding classes in the fall in participation with the Girl Scouts.
These classes are available to the public. A minimum of 15 sign ups must apply for classes to run.
All participants must register before the start of class by phone, e-mail or mail.
Please bring a lunch and wear messy clothes.
Stitch it Together
Will be
held at Messiah United Methodist Church in Shippensburg
Nov. 15,2008 from 9am-1:30pm for grades 1st through 3rd.

Info: A class designed for the Girl Scouts to earn their Stitch It Together Patch. Make your very own book when you learn how to stitch it together. Then pick out some buttons and sew them onto material. We will then take that material and learn how to sew it all together to make a group quilt with your Girl Scout troop. Finally make your very own bean bag for lots of different games!
Jeweler
Will be held at Calgary United Methodist Church in Fayetteville (150 Norlo Drive)
Nov 8, 2008 from 9am-1:30pm for grades 4th through 6th.

Info: A class designed for the Girl Scouts to earn their Jeweler Patch. Make a bracelet using materials that are found in everyday life. Create a shell necklace with items found in nature and then discover that jewelry has different meanings and make a macrame bracelet to give to someone else as a symbol of friendship. Finally learn about your birthstone and other stones and minerals and create a box to keep all your treasures! Girls can bring in any old broken jeweler or shells that are special to them or use the materials supplies by the teacher.
Sound Of Music
Will be held at Messiah United Methodist Church in Shippensburg
March 28, 2009 at 9am-1pm for grades 1st through 3rd.

Info: A class designed for the Girl Scouts to earn their Sound Of Music Patch. Make your very own percussion instrument that makes a sound when hit or shaken. You will create a single string wing that makes noise when you pluck it. Then discover how sounds are made by changing the amount of air in a tube. Finally make a melody mobile with found objects. Bring your own treasures such as a small toy, old pieces of jewelry, hair clips and other found objects around the house or use objects supplies by the teacher.
